The Decom Post is a youth-led newspaper committed to transforming the narrative around Toronto’s local food systems. We experience the destruction of our current systems as a kind of decomposition, a necessary death to make way for life. Thus, our newspaper turns to those of us who are finding ways to feed our communities amid this turbulence, to those candles in the dark that guide us toward radiant, radical possibilities.

We highlight farmers and food providers who embody Land Back principles, cultivating deep connections with the land through farming and grassroots education. Standing against the alienation caused by the global capitalist food system, we support efforts to dismantle it in favour of sustainable, community-focused alternatives. Our mission is to promote access to nutritious, affordable food while celebrating the renewal driven by local food initiatives. We aim to inspire, educate, and strengthen our collective commitment to sustainable and just food systems.
